Baby Wearing & Kinaestetic Infant Handling
Human babies love to be carried around. Carrying not only satisfies baby’s need for closeness and security, it also strengthens the bond between parents and child and offers parents a variety of options in everyday life. Parents are relieved and more independent – babies become calmer, relaxed and physical and mental development also benefits from carrying.
In this Baby Wearing workshop, I will explain the most important aspects of healthy and comfortable babywearing (for parents and baby) and development-promoting baby handling (kinesthetic infant handling for turning, picking up and how to hold your baby comfortably and safe, healthy hip joints development). You will get an overview of various carrying options and after the lecture you can browse through a wide range of baby carriers and slings.
This workshop will take place without babies, so it is aimed at expectant parents who want to learn more about healthy babywearing and get to know different carrying options. There are realistic baby dolls on site for trying and practicing. There is also enough time for questions, exchanging ideas and making contacts with other parents.
Current topics of mothers and expectant parents are welcome, and questions are given enough time in the course unit, as well for making contacts with other parents.
