Breastfeeding & Maternity Care Course
Preparation on how to master the postpartum period and the first time with your baby in a relaxed manner, regardless of whether it is a natural birth or a cesarean section. A course for expectant and new parents to use this knowledge package to create a space for bonding and healing that is respected and supported by all sides.

- Helpful tips & preparations for the postpartum period
- Postpartum care for mom’s body and mind
- The importance of skin-to-skin contact & bonding
- The golden hour & benefits of colostrum
- Breastfeeding the first few days, bonding & breast engorgement
- Understanding hormones & milk production
- Importance of feeding on demand 8-12 times a day & baby’s weight development
- Understanding baby’s needs & hunger cues
- Different breastfeeding positions & the importance of a good latch
- What to do with breast swelling/engorgement, blocked ducts or sore nipples
- The demand regulates the supply – How to know if I have enough milk supply
- Risks and effects of pacifiers & bottles
- Nutrition during postpartum & breastfeeding period
- Possible support from partner & family
- WHO & official recommendations
- Help, tips and practical exercise with a realistic baby doll
Current topics of mothers and expectant parents are welcome, and questions are given enough time in the course unit, as well for making contacts with other parents.
